The South Korean firm said Monday it sold more than 25 million Galaxy S smartphones, 40 million Galaxy S II smartphones and 41 million Galax S III smartphones in the last three years.

The Department of Homeland Security and computer security experts said that hackers have figured out how to exploit a bug in Java that is used with browsers to install malicious software on PCs. That has enabled them to commit crimes from identity theft to infecting a computer in a network that can be used to attack websites.

Congressional investigators plan to turn over to the FBI evidence of potential cyber-espionage involving Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence said Monday.

William Plummer, Huawei’s vice president for external affairs, denied the accusations and denounced the report as “quite strong on rhetoric” and “utterly lacking in substance.”
